Editorial Policy

Introduction:

Journal of Environmental Sciences YABATECH (JESY) is a multi-disciplinary publication of Yaba College of Technology, Yaba-Lagos, Lagos State, Nigeria. It is a medium designed for researchers in the field of Architecture, Building, Estate Management, Geography, Industrial Design, Surveying and Geo-informatics, Urban and Regional Planning, Environmental Sciences including waste Management, Pollution Control, sustainable development both national and international to publish their research works. It is a bi-annual academic journal of high standard committed to the publication of original research papers in the above mentioned fields.

The focus of the journal is to assist scholars with collections of quality academic research with practical industrial, sustainable development and societal well being and related practices.

 

Manuscripts are accepted for publications from academics, researchers and practitioners after a double blinded peer review process. Preference is given to those of general significance that are written in English language, well organized and with outstanding academic significance.

 

As the journal provides a platform for rendering accurate and prompt research results, it also introduces new concepts that promote academic excellence and push frontiers of knowledge in the fields of environmental sciences disciplines. The journal editorial board is interested in publishing wide range of articles from these fields all around the globe. It is on this premise that the journal welcomes contributions in the form of articles (research, review or technical reports), general surveys, case study reports, conference/symposia/workshop reports and book reviews.

 

Guidelines for Reviewers:

For each manuscript, the individual reviewer:

  • must consider and conclude if the manuscript makes a valuable contribution to existing knowledge and literature, especially in terms of research significance, theory development, quality or newness of data, findings, methodology etc.
  • must conclude if the manuscript is written according to the Journal’s ‘Manuscript Requirements’ and ‘General Information’ as stated in Environmental Sciences, Poster and Flier respectively.
  • must consider and conclude if the manuscript is written and presented up to publishable standards of the Journal in terms of: whether manuscript falls under any of the Environmental Sciences scope, whether concepts have been adequately defined, whether the manuscript is well structured with coherent and integrated argumentation, whether statistical data have concise clarity, whether tables, figures and diagrams are clear and representative, whether modification is needed by cutting out any part of the paper, restructuring, or further developing the paper.
